Bring the calorie target; the calculator does not diagnose it
Enter a daily calorie target already established for the individual pet with appropriate veterinary guidance. Species, life stage, body condition, activity, pregnancy, illness, medication, and food energy density all affect the real target.
Convert calories to the actual food label
The result is calories per meal, not cups or grams. Use the current food's calories per cup, can, pouch, or gram to convert each meal, then weigh or measure portions consistently and include treats in the daily plan.
Use an automatic feeder only after a manual test
Confirm that the feeder's smallest portion, food shape, schedule, battery backup, clock, and jam behavior can reproduce the plan. Observe several cycles and keep a fallback when missed meals would be risky.
